1420 16th Street was constructed in 1907 during a period of architectural design known as the “Eclectic Movement.” Immediately following the Victorian period, the Eclectic Movement drew on the full spectrum of architectural tradition – Ancient Classical, Medieval, Renaissance Classical, or Modern for stylistic inspiration. Designed by famous architect Nathan Cornith Wyeth, this building is a significant contributing structure to the 16th Street Historic District.
