DC Historic Designs prepared the nomination of the Congressional Club for the National Register of Historic Places. On July 28, 2011, DC Historic Designs staff person Stephen Hansen presented the nomination to the DC Historic Preservation Reivew Board. The board voted 5-0 to designate the Congressional Club as a local historic landmark. In October, the Congressional Club was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
