Short History
Short house histories include a short history of the development of the surrounding neighborhood, the year the house was constructed, information on the architect and builder (if known), residents and occupations, newspaper clippings relating the house and/or its occupants.
Intermediate History
An intermediate history includes all the options included in the short report, a short biography of the architect, a description of the architectural style and significance*, permit searches to determine any changes made to the house, and any historic photographs that may exist of the house or the immediate area.
* Necessary for historic easement applications, local landmark, and National Register of Historic Places nominations.
Comprehensive House History
A comprehensive history includes all the options of the intermediate history and includes photorealistic renderings of how the house originally looked when it was built, and short biographies of any significant people who lived there. [Ssee an example of a comprehensive report (6 MB).
Indiviual Report Options
We can put together a history package that meets your needs and/or interests. We will also help you determine which additional options based on our findings for the Short History may be available for further research. Here is an example of something unexpected --the house was indirectly involved in an assassination plot again President Kennedy-- that we found while conducting a short history for a client that lead to further investigation.
