If you are considering making any modifications (renovations, restorations, or rehabilitation) to an historic home or commercial building, DC Historic Designs can provide advice on local and national historic preservation laws and guidelines, and will work with you in developing historically acceptable architectural design options for projects. We conduct extensive archival research, stylistic, and physical analysis to determine when your house was built, who the architect and builders were, and the materials and methods used to determine how the original exterior or interior of your home appeared when it was built. We then use advanced 3-D computer rendering to recreate original exteriors and interiors that then serve as a visual basis for exploring and deciding on design options. This process will provide you with designs that comply with historic preservation requirements before engaging architects or contractors, and seeking approval by the various historic preservation and permit offices.
